Colleagues on FirstMed

Newsletter - Feb14 - FMC CrossWe are grateful for the invaluable skills and expertise of our staff members over the years. In honor of the clinic’s fifteenth anniversary, some members of our staff shared some of their experiences with FirstMed through the years.

Over the past 15 years, what has been your fondest memory with FirstMed?

Magdolna Hegedűs – Radiology

The best part of my work here has always been the excellent collegiate relationships.

Zoltán Detre – Orthopedics/Traumatology

FirstMed has always struck me as a significantly more elegant, sophisticated environment than the general Hungarian hospitals, with a truly unique patient-centered approach, comprised of responsible and careful patient care, and all-round medical consideration. Furthermore, I greatly enjoy the ever changing variety introduced by our international clients on a daily basis. Alongside the challenges of providing care, we ourselves are constantly challenged to learn about other cultures, customs, and history. I recall working with several patients who have been an honor to treat. Still, fellow doctors and staff members have created a unified team, and working alongside them feels easy and pleasant.

Péter Gyöngyösi – Ophthalmology

Firstmed is a big family. The staff of the clinic and our patients are who make up the family and we all feel we experience this connection. At FirstMed, there is always a smile or a kind word for someone in need of a little affection. This is my fondest memory about Firstmed.

Krisztina Nagyné Suba – Medical Administrator

I have made several pleasant memories since I have been working here, most of which can be accounted to my great colleagues. The excellent team makes this an enjoyable place to work, Still, my most treasured memory is being selected as employee of the year in December.

Kinga Málnási – Marketing Assistant

After I broke my ankle and had to have surgery, so many of my colleagues stood beside me, supported me and helped me every possible way with my recovery.

Zsófia Shödl – Registered Nurse

There is a huge missionary board that we have very good cooperation with. One day I received an email, then a phone call regarding a missionary man who lived in Siberia and had been experiencing chest pain on and off. After emailing back and forth in attempts to gather as much information as possible, we decided to organize a medical rescue for him. Within 30 hours, he was here in Budapest diagnosed with severe coronary artery stenosis. Another 15 hours later, he underwent a stenting procedure, without open heart surgery, which allowed him to leave the hospital 2 days later and continue his calling as a missionary in a whole other part of the world, after no more than a week.

Nóra Brányi – Registered Nurse

It felt super that when I first began working here, everyone was really kind, and the whole experience felt like I had just become a part of a big family. I started working in August, and had been voted as Employee of the Year in the following December. It felt so great that my efforts were appreciated so much, even though I had only been part of the team for 5 months at the time. Since then I have had the opportunity to learn and grow.

What is the biggest change or improvement you’ve experienced here?

Magdolna Hegedűs – Radiology

The most significant improvement of the clinic that affected me has been the introduction of digital radiology. With this technology, the information content of low-quality RTG images can be increased, inventory is much easier for physicians, and diagnoses can be better informed– all of these leading to better quality patient care.

Zoltán Detre – Orthopedics/Traumatology

The clinic has been improving constantly, in terms of both technology and services provided, still the comforting but professional air of our clinic has been stable and unchanging throughout the years.

Péter Gyöngyösi – Ophthalmology

The biggest change was expanding the clinic to take over the entire 5th floor of the building. This was the time we were able to open new specialist departments, like ophthalmology. From that moment, FirstMed became more of a policlinic, because the care we provide is no longer restricted to those of an urgent care clinic

Krisztina Nagyné Suba – Medical Administrator

A few months after joining FirstMed, I began to organize outside appointments. I realized that this is something I very much enjoy doing, and a year ago I was able to become a medical administrator. This was a great advance for me within the company, being able to deal with scheduling appointments and other administrative tasks.

Kinga Málnási – Marketing Assistant

Through my work here, I have learned much about adapting to a wide range of different situations. I have learned a whole lot about health care, and how the private insurance system works. Being here has also helped me greatly improve my English, in my opinion.

Zsófia Shödl – Registered Nurse

It is a great inspiration and encouragement for us all, that unless he is abroad, Dennis, our Managing Director, comes to the clinic every day, rain or shine. It is also very affirming to see that those who have been working here for a longer period of time have started believing that our work makes a difference in our community and the city. The fact that we have made it thus far, with such great success is the triumph of our good work.

Nóra Brányi – Registered Nurse

In all aspects, the clinic has outdone itself. With time it has become more modern, more attractive, better equipped than before. It is also fantastic to see the way the clinic has successfully battled the various kinds of difficulties through the years, as a result of everyone’s sacrificial labors.
